How we model Asian Handicap
Asian Handicap (AH) is the market for serious football bettors — it removes the draw and forces a binary outcome by applying a goal handicap to one side. ScorePulse models AH separately from 1X2: we compute the full Poisson scoreline grid from each team's expected goals (λ), then derive the exact cover-probability for every line in {+1.0, +0.75, +0.5, +0.25, 0, -0.25, -0.5, -0.75, -1.0}.
We publish an AH recommendation only when (a) the captured bookmaker odds sit in our value range (typically 1.12–1.75), (b) the model's safe-probability (win + push) clears our threshold for that line, and (c) the team passes the venue-aware loss guard — a hard filter that blocks the pick if the side's recent home/away losses pattern matches the upcoming venue. Asian Handicap is a Premium-only market on ScorePulse. We keep it behind the paywall because (i) the modelling overhead is significantly higher than 1X2/BTTS, (ii) it's the market with the consistently highest long-term ROI in our backtests, and (iii) it rewards subscribers who want a real edge. Asian Handicap predictions — FAQ
What is Asian Handicap?+
Asian Handicap is a football betting market that removes the draw outcome by applying a goal handicap to one team. A +1.0 handicap means the team starts the match with a virtual 1-goal lead. Quarter-lines (+0.25, +0.75) split the stake across two adjacent lines, allowing a half-win or half-loss when the result lands in between.
Why is Asian Handicap Premium-only?+
AH is the highest-effort and highest-edge market in our model. Subscribers get the full grid of evaluated lines per match. Free users see the regular 1X2, BTTS, Over/Under markets — AH adds a third tier of value for paying users.
Which lines does ScorePulse cover?+
+1.0, +0.75, +0.5, +0.25, 0 (level), -0.25, -0.5, -0.75, -1.0. Each line is evaluated independently per match using the full Poisson goal grid and only published on positive edge against captured bookmaker odds.
What odds range do you target?+
Recommended AH picks land in the 1.12–1.75 odds range. Shorter than 1.12 the value disappears even with a strong edge; longer than 1.75 the model typically prefers other markets (BTTS, Over 1.5) with similar reward and lower variance.
How do quarter-lines work (+0.25, +0.75)?+
Quarter-lines split your stake across the two adjacent half-lines. Example: +0.5 stake on +0.75 means 0.5u on +0.5 and 0.5u on +1.0. If the result lands on +1.0 (one-goal loss), the +1.0 half pushes (returned) while the +0.5 half loses — net: half-loss. This gives more granular pricing than full-line markets.
